"Here’s the thing…you can’t really know how to treat a patient until you get to know them. I take the time to ask them questions and find out what’s going on."

Areas of Specialization
Joint Reconstruction and Replacement
Joint replacement involves replacing the entire joint with an artificial one. Joint reconstruction, on the other hand, is a minimally invasive surgery that repairs and rebuilds the joint using pieces of your own bone and tissue.
Dr. Boyett performs the procedure using an arthroscope – a pencil-sized tube that can be inserted through a small incision. The arthroscope contains a fiber-optic light and video camera that sends images to a monitor.
As an expert in treating sports injuries, Dr. Boyett has an in-depth knowledge of sports science, and how different types of sports affect the muscles, bones, and soft tissues around the shoulder and knee.
Being a specialist in knee and shoulder surgery means you have achieved a level of expertise and mastery in this area and, in Dr. Boyett’s case, passed rigorous certification in both Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Even though Dr. Boyett is considered an expert in the field of knee and shoulder repair, he first and foremost sees his job as alleviating his patient’s pain, restoring function, and getting them back to living their lives as quickly as possible.
When surgery is the only way to achieve these goals Dr. Boyett will use minimally invasive techniques whenever possible such as arthroscopic surgery.
